What to expect during your 7-day Splendours of Turkey?
Day 1: Eceabat and Gallipoli
After breakfast, the first day of this unique 7-day exploration starts in the morning. We will pick you up from your hotel in Istanbul and drive you towards Eceabat. The road trip is approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, you will proceed with the Gallipoli tour in order to learn the history of WWI by visiting some of the most notable battlefields, memorials, cemeteries, and monuments. During the Gallipoli tour, you will visit, among others, the Brighton Bridge, the Beach Cemetery, ANZAC Cove, Ariburnu Cemetery, and ANZAC Commemorative Site. the tour finishes during the afternoon and by that time, we will transfer you to a new hotel in Canakkale in order to spend your evening as you wish.
Day 2: Trojan Horse and Ancient city of Troy – Kusadasi
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the starting point of the Troy tour. You will visit an impressive replica of the infamous Trojan horse. The replica has the exact size and design as the authentic one and forms a great backdrop for some photos. The tour guide will let you know all the interesting details about this horse.
Accompanied by the tour guide, you will also visit the ancient city of Troy. There, you can observe the houses, temples, and fortification walls of the city. The guide will also explain the history of the Trojan War.
During the afternoon, by the end of the tour, we will transfer you to a new hotel in Kusadasi in order to spend your evening.
Day 3: Ephesus – Pamukkale
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the starting point of our Ephesus tour. The first stop will take place at the Temple of Artemis. This site is characterized as one of the wonders of the ancient world due to its imposing size and design. Nowadays, visitors can only observe the ruins of this temple.
After that, we will visit Ephesus which used to be the second most important city after Rome during the Roman period and was entirely built from marble. Accompanied by the tour guide, you will walk around the marble streets, observe the ancient theatre, admire the enhanced aesthetics of the city and learn its history.
After a tasty lunch break, you will also visit the house of the Virgin Mary. It is located in a peaceful landscape and is the one the Virgin Mary chose to spend her last days. The last stop of the day will be made at Isabey Mosque. It is one of the most important mosques as it features unique Ottoman architecture.
The Ephesus tour finishes during the afternoon. After that, you will drive approximately 3 hours to your hotel in Pamukkale in order to spend your evening.
Day 4: Pamukkale
The day starts with an excellent breakfast and starts with our tour in Karahayit to visit the red thermal pools before we will take your breath away with the spectacular natural beauty of the famous Cotton Castle Pools. The mountain has naturally shaped terraces with thermal water and attracts thousands of visitors every year. You can walk around and admire the serenity of the setting and snap some nice photos during your time there.
The tour guide will then take you to visit the ancient city of Hierapolis. This site used to be a healing spiritual center during antiquity due to the existence of the nearby hot springs. The tour guide will explain everything you need to know about the history of this place.
After the sightseeing, you will have some free time in Pamukkale. Take this chance to visit Cleopatra’s Pool, an ancient thermal pool, where you can swim at an extra cost.
By the end of the tour, we will transfer to your Hotel in Pamukkale in order to spend your evening.
Day 5: Konya -Cappadocia
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you will check out of the room and continue towards the next stop. A fully air-conditioned bus will drive you to Konya city where you will be free to explore the city as you wish. After that short visit and stop, we continue our drive direction of Cappadocia. Late in the evening, we will transfer you to a new hotel in Cappadocia in order to spend your night.
Day 6: Cappadocia Tour
The day starts with an excellent breakfast and starts with our tour as the first day of the Cappadocia tour includes visits to some of the region’s most known valleys. More specifically, you will visit the Devrent and the Monks Valley where you will have the time to walk around and admire rock formations and fairy chimneys.
During this day you will also visit Avanos for a lunch break. The city has a tradition of pottery and during your time there you will visit a pottery workshop.
After Avanos, you will be transferred to Goreme Open Air Museum. It forms the most visited site in Cappadocia and has multiple churches and monasteries carved into rocks.
Before going back to the hotel, a stop will be made at Uchisar Castle. From there, you can enjoy panoramic views over the valleys and take some stunning photos.
By the end of the tour, we will transfer to your Hotel in order to spend your evening.
Day 7: Cappadocia Tour and Istanbul
The last day begins with breakfast at the hotel and continues with a guided tour of Cappadocia. During the tour, you will visit another two famous valleys, the Red and the Pigeons’ Valleys. Admire the beauty of the scenery while enjoying the mystical atmosphere that the valleys have during your time there. The guide will take you to the abandoned village of Cavusin. This settlement has a unique charm and character due to the cave houses that have. The guide will let you know interesting information about the history of this village before going for a lunch break.
Your last stop will take place at Kaymakli Underground City. It was constructed in an effort to protect early Christians from invasions. Inside, you can walk and explore the various floors and rooms.
The tour in Cappadocia finishes during the afternoon. A car will transfer you to the airport in order to fly back to Istanbul.
