What to expect during the Anzac and Helles Tour from Istanbul?
Day 1: Istanbul to Eceabat
We pick you up from your hotel or airport in Istanbul and start our tour. We drive in the direction of Eceabat a town and district of Çanakkale Province in the Marmara region of Turkey, located on the eastern shore of the Gelibolu Peninsula, on the Dardanelles Strait.
Eceabat is the nearest town to the World War I Gallipoli Campaign battlefields of 1915, cemeteries, and memorials to the more than 120,000 soldiers who fell from Turkey, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, and New Zealand. The name Eceabat could be originated from the Arabic military word "Hijabat" which means the most forward command point on the battlefield. Once arrived we will have lunch in a local restaurant. After our lunch, we will start with a guided visit to Gallipoli, where we will visit: Brighton Beach, Beach Cemetery, ANZAC Cove, Ariburnu Cemetery, ANZAC Commemorative Site, Respect to Mehmetcik Statue, Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Johnston's Jolly, (Turkish and Allied trenches and tunnels), Turkish 57th Infantry Regiment Cemetery, The Nek, Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial. After the tour, we bring you to your hotel in Canakkale.
Day 2: Canakkale
After breakfast we make ready for the first visit of the day as we will start the guided visit to the Helles sector, there you will visit
Namazgah Battery, Rumeli Mecidiye Battery, Seyit Onbasi (Corporal Seyit), Top of Alcitepe (Achibaba), Turkish Memorial, French, Cemetery, V Beach, Ertugrul Battery, Helles Memorial, Lancashire Landing Cemetery, X Beach, Twelve Trees Copse Cemetery, Alcitepe (Krithia). After the tour, we go for lunch and we start our drive back to Selçuk or Istanbul. By arrival, we will drop you off at your hotel.
