Istanbul-Nemrut Mountain tour dives deep into the history of the Southeastern Anatolia region. Departing from Istanbul, this tour offers us the chance to see well-preserved structures and ruins dating back thousands of years. Sanliurfa is a city of religious importance for Christians and Muslims. The city of Harran is a city protected because of its old houses. Göbekli Tepe is a wonderful archaeological find filled with sculptures, monuments and icons dating back thousands of years.

Day 1
DAY 1

You will be taken from your hotel and transferred to the airport for the flight.

Arrival in Adiyaman, the tour begins

You will begin to Sacred View Tour. On your way to Nemrut Mountain, you will visit Karakus Tumulus. You will pass through the ancient Roman Bridge in Cendere.

Mount Nemrut Sunset

You will go to the summit of Nemrut. Here you will discover ancient ruins which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. You can see the Tomb of King Antiochus with dozens of sculptures. The reliefs depict history, including one of the oldest images of people shaking hands. We will give a break here. At this high point you will be able to watch the sunset.

Drive to hotel, overnight in Adiyaman or Kahta

When the sun sets you will go to Adıyaman or Kahta to spend the night in your hotel.

Day 2
DAY 2

Second day of the tour will be full of with activities. We recommend you to have a good rest.

You will start the day by visiting Harran, which is famous both in the Bible and in the Quran. Then you will go to Gobekli Tepe archaeological site. You will visit 4 other places today; Atatürk Dam, Şanlıurfa City, Harran City and Göbekli Tepe

Ataturk Dam

On the way to Sanliurfa you will take a short break at the monumental Atatürk Dam. You will be able to see a perfect view here.

Sanliurfa City

The ancient city you will visit is full of traditions and history dating back generations with its stories told in religious texts.

The Sanliurfa pond tells the story of God saving Abraham from a jealous king trying to throw him into a big fire pit. According to the story, the fire turned into water, and the burning stumps turned into fish. You can still see the fish that live in the pond.Gobekli Tepe

Göbeklitepe was built on a natural limestone plateau.

Excavations here found some groundbreaking discoveries, including the first religious signs of worship, complex depictions of multi-figure narratives, and the first astronomical alignments. It is thought to still contain dozens of temples underground.

Harran was an important city in the Mesopotamian period. It was a city that harbors different cultures and it was the center of trade routes between the Mediterranean and Tigris Plain. The Persian Empire, Alexander the Great, the Seleucid Empire, the Roman Empire, and the Muslim Arabs fought for this place. The city once again Gobekli Tepe
