What is the itinerary for this North-Western Turkey Excursion?
Day 1: Kuşadası - Arrival Day
When you arrive our team will pick you up according to your wish from Izmir Airport, Kusadasi Port, or the bus terminal. You will be transferred to your hotel and you will spend the night in Kusadasi.
Day 2: Ephesus Tour
The tour begins at 09.30 in the morning. We pick you up from your hotel and drive to Ephesus (about 20 minutes) which was the center of trade. The city which has magnificent architecture was dedicated to Artemis the Goddess. Considered one of the seven wonders of the world and rebuilt several times, its enormous temple dates from the third century BC. You will be able to visit the ancient theatre, gymnasium, agora, baths, and Celsus Library.
You’ll have a shopping tour where you will see leather and jewelry after lunch. It will be a guided tour. You will witness the old craftsmen who produce leather and jewelry. At the end of the tour, we will drive you back to the hotel.
Day 3: Pamukkale Tour
The tour begins early morning as we take our driving in the direction of Pamukkale. Due to the chemical properties of the water, pure white-colored travertines and stepped water terraces have been created on the mountain slope. Of its resemblance to cotton piles, it is called ´Cotton Castle´ in Turkish. Visit the travertines and the ancient city of Hierapolis which has the biggest Necropolis with 1200 gravestones in Anatolia. The sacred pool also is one of the highlights of the site. Their shallow thermal waters ripple over a wonderful scattering of ancient roman ruins that lie beneath. After lunch, we drive back to Kusadasi and the hotel.
Day 4: Pergamnon and Çanakkale
After breakfast, we will drive directly to Pergamon. You will see Asklepion, the altar of Zeus, and the Red Basilica. Pergamon was first Hellenistic and later it became a Roman city. You will visit the Red Courtyard or the Red Basilica, a large building on the river not far from the Acropolis. It was built to worship the Egyptian god Osiris and was converted into a basilica by the first Christians. After Bergama, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Çanakkale.
Day 5: Last day Çanakkale, Troy, Gallipoli, and Istanbul
After breakfast, you will go to Troy, where you can explore the legendary city mentioned in the Iliad, visit the Temple of Athena and have lunch in Eceabat. After lunch, you will visit Gallipoli and see the monuments built for those who took part in the Battle of Gallipoli during the First World War. You will hear about Turkey's founder Ataturk from the guide and you will witness the friendship established between many countries.
After the tour, we drop you off at your hotel or Airport in Istanbul
