What to expect during the 7-day ANZAC Day Turkey?



Day 1: 22nd April Welcome to Istanbul



Welcome to Istanbul, where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. (Please note check-in times vary between hotels but are normally no earlier than noon) you have the rest of the day free to explore Istanbul and you will meet your guide later that evening who will give you information about the tour and answer any questions you might have. Overnight Stay in Istanbul.



Day 2: 23rd April Istanbul Full-day Classic Tour



After breakfast at your hotel, you begin a full-day sightseeing tour of Istanbul. Highlights include a visit to THE ancient Roman Hippodrome (site of chariot races) and the Hagia Sophia, the Byzantine church that was converted to a mosque in the 15th century… You will also visit the famed “Blue Mosque” and the Grand Bazaar, the world’s largest covered bazaar, where you’ll have free time to discover some of the nearly 4,000 tiny shops that line its maze of passageways. Breakfast
Tonight doesn’t miss the optional Turkish Folklore evening.



Day 3: 24th April Gallipoli Battlefields



Early morning we depart for the Gallipoli peninsula where we will enjoy a BBQ lunch at Kabatepe before a short orientation tour of the WW1 battlefields of Gallipoli, visiting Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial, and ANZAC Cove if accessible. After the tour, we head straight to the site of the dawn service to get a good spot for the long night ahead. Overnight ANZAC Cove Breakfast
Don’t forget your sleeping bags, warm clothes, wet weather gear, and torches because Gallipoli is still as dark and as cold today as it was in 1915 when our ancestors landed. Please bring your hat, sunscreen, and good walking shoes.



Day 4: 25th April ANZAC Day Commemorations at Gallipoli



Awake before sunrise to the ANZAC Dawn Service. We become aware of the almost deafening silence as we commemorate our fallen forefathers on this special day. We attend the Australian &/or New Zealand Memorial services before a late afternoon drive to Ayvalik for an overnight stay Dinner



Day 5: 26th April Acropolis of Pergamon



Leaving Ayvalik we drive to the south towards Bergama for a fully guided tour of Pergamum, once the home of the Royal family and the founder of modern medicine. Tonight we arrive in Kusadasi. Overnight stay Kusadasi



Day 6: 27th April Ancient Ephesus & Sirince Village Full-Day Tour



Today we have a fully guided tour of Ephesus – to visit the Temple of Artemis (Diana) Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in Turkey. and After lunch, we will take a look at how the Turkish carpets are made by hand in Sirince village to learn about local life on the way back to the hotel enjoy a fashion show at one of the leather outlet centers



Day 7: 28th April Izmir Airport Departure Day



Departure for Izmir Airport after breakfast.
