Day 1: Arrival

Welcome to Turkey! Cardak, airport pick-up, and transfer to Isparta. Arrive at your hotel for check-in and enjoy your afternoon and evening at your hotel.

Day 2: Güneykent Village-Isparta-Sagalassos for Roses Harvesting Day

After breakfast, we will take a walk in the Rose Gardens and photograph the roses and the villagers harvesting the roses. Those who wish will harvest with the villagers. Then, we go to the rose oil factory and see the operations made on the collected roses and get information. After visiting the Rose House and Yunus Emre House, spending some time shopping (rose oil, rose jam, rose cream, rose syrup, etc.), and completing our rose harvest, we move to Isparta and settle in our hotel. After a short rest and lunch (Isparta kebab is famous), we make our city tour. Mimar Sinan Mosque (Firdevs Pasa Mosque and Bedesten), Kutlubey (Ulu) Mosque, Prof. Dr. After our tour of Turan Yazgan Ethnography Carpet and Rug Museum, Grape Market, we go to the ancient city of Sagalassos, which is magnificent with its location and city plan, and the favorite city of the emperors. It is a different experience to see the still flowing water of the Antonine Fountain, which was built during the reign of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius between AD 161 – 180. We will explore the city on foot. Then we will go to our hotel for dinner and accommodation.

Day 3: Isparta-Egirdir-Written Canyon-Kovada Lake

After breakfast, we will take the road and drive towards our first stop. Our first stop is Akpınar Hill, where we can see Lake Eğirdir from a bird’s eye view. After the tea break, we drive to Green Island on Lake Eğirdir. During our walk around Green Island, we will see the Old Eğirdir Houses, the Ayastafenos Church, the first seminary, and the Muslihiddin Dede Tomb. Afterward, we visit the Dundar Bey Madrasa, Hızırbey Mosque, Kemerli Minaret, and Kale region, and complete our walk on the island. Afterward, we pass the Kovada Lake National Park, which is the continuation of Lake Eğirdir to the south and became a separate lake as a result of the narrow area in between being filled with alluvium. After completing our walk around the lake, we get in our vehicle and pass to Sütçüler Yazılı Canyon National Park. There are temple and rock inscriptions in the canyon, where the historical “King’s Road” also passes. Değirmendere Stream, which flows continuously, has formed many large and small pockets -boilers- in the canyon. In the karstic spaces formed on the side walls of the canyon -in the dens- there are parts of worship and inscriptions. Because of these inscriptions, the canyon is called “The Written Canyon”. Located on a big rock in the canyon, one of the ancient Greek poets Epictetus’ “A Poem About the Free Man”, Prof. Dr. Solved by Sencer Şahin. St. Paul passed through this canyon on his way from Perge to Pisidia Antiocheia. We take our lunch at our facility in the canyon. After the meal, the tea flowing below accompanies you as you proceed along the paths with the alder trees, hairy oaks, crazy olives, laurels, and myrtles. Its surroundings are like an oasis for bird watchers. The depth of Yazılı Canyon varies between 100 and 400 meters. In Yazılı Canyon, we take a walk on a path that is not difficult, following the Old King’s road. We go back to our hotel for dinner and accommodation.

Day 4: Return Day

After breakfast, we go to Salda Lake. The geological and biological story of Salda Lake, which is called Turkey’s Maldives with the color of its water and beach, is even more colorful. After enjoying Salda Lake, we will go to Burdur. We are visiting the Burdur Archeology Museum, where artifacts brought from the ancient settlements of Burdur and its surroundings and Sagalassos, Hacilar, Kibera, and Kremna are exhibited. This museum is among the first 10-15 museums in Turkey with a number of antiquities of up to 60 thousand. After completing our Burdur tour, we are going back to Cardack Airport or we continue direction to Pamukkale for visiting there.
