What to expect during the 11-day Mesopotamian and Aegean Hidden Secret Tour?

Day 1: Cappadocia- Arrival

Welcome to Cappadocia. Upon our arrival at Cappadocia Airport, our professional tour guide will meet with you, greeting you with a board with your name on it. We will provide transportation, and take you to your hotel with comfort and style. Arrive at your hotel and you will be assisted during your check-in. Today, you can enjoy Cappadocia as you wish.

Day 2: Cappadocia Underground City & Goreme Open Air Museum

The day starts with an Ozkonak Underground city visit that was built in Idis Mountain where volcanic granite-made tuff layers are quite dense and the galleries are connected by tunnels. The Goreme Open Air Museum will be the following destination that can be said that it is the heart of Cappadocia. The region was Listed as a Unesco World Heritage site in 1985 and it hides the churches of Durmuş Kadir, Yusuf Koç, El Nazar, Saklı, Meryem Ana (Virgin Mary) Kılıçlar, Tokalı, and Dark churches. Plus Convent of Monks and Nuns, Chapel of St Basil, and St. Barbara can be seen either with lots of captivating church interior paintings that have reached today. With a few minutes’ walk, Cavusin will be waiting for you and you can explore The Christians who created living spaces for themselves in the fairy chimneys of those fleeing the oppression of the Romans. Lunch will be in Avanos which is the home of pottery dating way back to the Hittites. There will be a workshop visit and shopping chances here that can’t be missed. Love Valley and Devrent Valley where you can see the symbols of Cappadocia Three Beauties. This tour will end approximately at beginning of the evening.

Day 3: Cappadocia – Red Tour

After breakfast, we will get to know the Cappadocia region, a volcanic area in which the geological formation started 10 million years ago. As a result of these formations, phallic pillars have come to life. The beautiful horse country Katpatuka, (as the Persians called her) is an unbelievable strip of land, enchanting and mysterious. Cappadocia region is also famous for its arts, including ceramics and carpets. You will be picked up from your hotel to join our regular tour. Tour starts with Uchisar Castle, the highest point of Cappadocia. After Uchisar, you visit Goreme Open Air Museum, the Heart of Cappadocia. Goreme Open Air Museum is famous for frescoes dating to the 10th century describing the life of Jesus Christ and monks. The next stop is Cavusin, which is an abandoned village with old cave Greek houses. After Cavusin you go to the restaurant in Avanos to have lunch. After lunch, you visit a pottery workshop, to see how to make pottery. Then you go to Pasabagi where you can see three-headed fairy chimneys. After Pasabagi you visit another workshop to see Cappadocian handwoven carpets and kilims. The next stop is Devrent Valley, which is also called Imagination Valley, where you can see natural rock formations looking like animals. Then you head to a wineshop in Urgup for wine tasting. The last stop is Three Beauties, three beautiful fairy chimneys with their hats, which is the symbol of Cappadocia. This tour will end in the early evening and you will be returned back to your hotel.

Day 4: Cappadocia to Konya

After breakfast, departure for Konya. On the way visit the 13th-century Seljukian masterpiece Sultanhan Caravanserai and arrival in Konya. We will take our Lunch in Konya and start with our visit. The Mevlana Museum and the striking green-tiled mausoleum of Mevlana will take you to the peaceful world of the Sufi sect known as Whirling Dervishes. Overnight in Konya.

Day 5: Konya to Pamukkale Via Egirdir

After breakfast depart with your private car to Pamukkale via Egirdir. Arrive in Egirdir and Eğirdir lake is an amazing place shaped by the skillful hand of nature found in the city famous for raising the most beautiful varieties of roses in Turkey. On your own, you can enjoy your lunch at one of the fish restaurants on the lakeside of Egirdir lake. After Egirdir we keep driving to Pamukkale. Arrive overnight in Pamukkale.

Day 6: Pamukkale Tour

After breakfast, we depart from your hotel to visit Pamukkale and Hierapolis. Pamukkale which means cotton castle has been formed over time by the natural hot springs, rich in calcium and carbonate, that flow down the slope. Your driver can also drive you to the ancient Roman Health Spa of Hierapolis, made most famous for it is thermal springs, theatre, Agora, and the Necropolis. At the end of the day drive you to your hotel in Kusadasi.

Day 7: Ephesus Tour

After breakfast, our tour starts in Ephesus. Ephesus ancient city is a 9000 years old city that houses The biggest temple dedicated to Artemis The Artemision which is considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. This guided tour will focus the Curetes street, famous Roman baths, Celsus Library, and Grand theatre House of the Virgin Mary with details on this outstanding example of a Roman port city.
Sirince village’s local 19th-century architecture is well preserved and the village in its reputation goes beyond the borders of the country İzmir. It is famous for its homemade wines that are specially made from different kinds of fruits such as blackberries, blueberries, melons, and strawberries. Here the tour includes wine tasting and learning how to make fruit wine in the wine houses. Plus handicrafts made by local women can be bought and a very famous leather production center will be the next stop. At the end of the tour, we drive back to the hotel.

Day 8: Kusadasi to Canakkale via Pergamum and Troy

After breakfast depart to visit Pergamum first. After Pergamum keeps driving to Troy, Troy will be seen on the horizon. The well-known archeological and mythological site is the scene of the Trojan war and the endless love of Helen and Paris. After the troy visit, we continue in the direction of Canakkale.

Day 9: Canakkale to Istanbul via Gallipoli

After breakfast depart to Istanbul via Gallipoli. On your way to Istanbul visit Dardanelles, Kabatepe War Museum, Brighton Beach, Anzac Cove, Lone Pine, and Chunuk Bair at Gallipoli. Then we will drive you to your hotel in Istanbul.

Day 10: Istanbul City Tour

After breakfast, the Istanbul city tour package will start at the Old City after a delicious breakfast. Hippodrome is the main rota that was inscribed on the Unesco World Heritage List in 1985 and the living heritage of both Byzantines and Ottomans can be seen. Around Sultanahmet, The German Fountain -which was gifted by German Emperor Wilhelm II in 1898-, and the Obelisk of Theodosius – nearly 3,500 years old, were brought to the Hippodrome by Theodosius from the Temple of Karnak about in 390- can be seen. Serpent Column -considered that it was at the Temple of Apollo in Delphi before- and the Column of Constantine that was brought from Apollon temple in Rome are other highlighted sites of the tour.

Day 11: Istanbul – Depart

After breakfast, we check out from the hotel and transfer to Istanbul International Airport by our Guide and Transport
