What to expect during your 8-day Hidden Beauties of South Anatolia?

Day 1: Cappadocia – Arrival Day

Welcome to Cappadocia. Upon our arrival at Cappadocia Airport, our professional tour guide will meet with you, greeting you with a board with your name on it. We will provide transportation, and take you to your hotel with comfort and style. Arrive at your hotel and you will be assisted during your check-in. Today, you can enjoy Cappadocia as you wish.

Day 2: Cappadocia Underground City & Goreme Open Air Museum

After breakfast, pick up from the hotel. We will drive you to Ozkonak Underground City, one of the best-preserved Underground cities in Cappadocia. Then visit Uchisar Castle, the highest point of Cappadocia. After Uchisar, you visit Goreme Open Air Museum, the Heart of Cappadocia. Goreme Open Air Museum is famous for frescoes dating to the 10th century describing the life of Jesus Christ and monks. The next stop is Cavusin, which is an abandoned village with old cave Greek houses. After Cavusin you go to the restaurant in Avanos to have lunch. After lunch, you visit a pottery workshop, to see how to make pottery. Then you go to Love Valley. Love Valley Cappadocia is a hidden valley with scenic formations, to say the least. Despite the resemblance to manhood, these amazing rock formations are far from man-made. After Love Valley, you visit another workshop to see Cappadocian handwoven carpets and kilims. The next stop is Devrent Valley, which is also called Imagination Valley, where you can see natural rock formations looking like animals. Then you head to a wine shop in Urgup for wine tasting. The last stop is Three Beauties, three beautiful fairy chimneys with their hats, which is the symbol of Cappadocia. This tour will end in the early evening and you will be back at your hotel.

Day 3: Cappadocia to Mount Nemrut

After breakfast, we will depart Kayseri for Mount Nemrut in Adiyaman along the Silk Road via the 13th Century Karatay Han. We divert off the Silk Road route to visit the mountaintop tomb of King Antiochus I. One of Turkey’s most iconic sites the tomb of Antiochus was lost for nearly 2,000 years and was only rediscovered in the 1890s by a government railroad surveyor.

Day 4: Nemrut to Gaziantep Tour

After breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we’ll go in the direction of Gaziantep in Southeast Turkey. We will pass through many beautiful cities of Anatolia during the journey. Travel time will be very enjoyable as the mountains, natural landscapes are accompanied by chats. We will visit the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, Gaziantep Castle, and the coppersmiths’ bazaar. Then, we will go to a local restaurant where they do serve delicious kebabs.

Day 5: Gaziantep to Sanliurfa and Göbeklitepe Tour

After breakfast, we depart and our first stop Halfeti. We reach Halfeti by passing through the peanut trees which are the most famous in the region because of their nuts. Halfeti is left under the water of a dam and we will see the beautiful nature and sunken city via a boat trip. (Gaziantep>Halfeti 96 Km) After Halfeti, our stop will be Gobeklitepe which is considered the recently discovered starting point of history. (Halfeti>Göbeklitepe 112 Km) We will leave Göbeklitepe and arrive at the hotel in Şanlıurfa. Our hotel is located in the city center. We’ll walk to see the symbolic significance of Fish Lake (Balıklıgöl) and explore the surrounding streets. Together we will walk by the local handicraft shops, walk through the narrow streets filled with spices, and visit small shish kebab restaurants. An optional activity “Sıra Gecesi” – was a fun night and a long dinner waiting for us. Local traditional music group with a live performance. We strongly recommend you participate. Overnight in Urfa.

Day 6: Sanliurfa Tour

We will leave the hotel, after breakfast. We will visit the Sanlıurfa Archeology Museum and Haleplibahce Mosaic Complex with magnificent artifacts. The last stop before Mardin is Harran. Here you will find famous conical houses and other traces of history and cross sections of old life. (Şanlıurfa-Harran 48 Km) After Harran, we will reach Mardin by late afternoon. We will visit Ulucami, the Virgin Mary Church, and walk the stone-paved streets of Mardin. Then, we will make a check-in hotel which is made of traditional stone walls.

Day 7: Mardin Tour

We will stay for two days in the city of Mardin, the beginning point of the Mesopotamia plain. The ancient city of Dara, Madrasahs, and Deyrulzafaran Monastery seat of the Patriarch of Antioch will be placed to see. Of course, we will feel the street culture and taste the delicious kebabs of the East. Overnight in Mardin.

Day 8: Mardin End of Tour

After breakfast checks out from your hotel and we transfer you to the airport for your flight back home.
